ORANGE BABY IDENTITY

ARE YOU AN ORANGE BABY?

Identity / Design / Illustration / Social Concept

I was asked to create a brand identity for a new charity called 'Orange Baby', which was to be launched across different countries in Europe. The charity was created to support mothers who had HIV, helping them with giving their children a better start in life.

The brief was to keep the identity 'simple' yet distinctive... eye catching yet friendly... bold yet soft and caring. Not an easy prospect, but an interesting challenge that allowed for a distinctive design.

The orange colour was chosen as it was warm and friendly, that could draw attention without being agressive. The 'jelly baby' icon matched the soft and caring aspect whilst offering a very friendly distinctive form. The font VAG Rounded added a clean perspective with a gentle touch of rounded edges.

The design was kept simple to maximise the impact of the communication. The identity had to work across multiple platforms of communication, ranging from posters, websites, marketing materials and branded products.

Due to the challenges of the budget, a social media strategy was decided upon as the best way to launch the charity. The target market of the charity was new parents, who were socially active and open to supporting the brand across their groups.

The project is currently undergoing discussion with a well known baby brand to act as sponsor for the charity.
